| Well I got my windshield replaced today in the red vert. Guy finally showed up at about 3:30, cut the old windshield out, got the
new one set in place, and then said "it got a scratch and a chip that I
didn't" see. So he said he could get another one out to me tomorrow.(slightly
annoying but what ya gonna do) So I say ok. Well about 5:30 tonight I get a call from the manager guy of the local
branch. Turns out there are no more 300zx windshields in the state. So he offers
me a discount of $200 on it. I take it. So he says he will have someone tomorrow afternoon come out for it. I
then mention to him that there happens to be one of their trucks across
the street from me right now. Well he says they have already gone
home for the day so thats someone off of work. Well about 5 mins later after just crawling back under the Z the phone
rings. So I pop back up, run and catch it. Turns out that two of their
installers live right across the street from me. So he is going to come
over and finish the install. Guy comes over, says hi, attaches the two
windshield moldings, scraps the windshield sticker off, we make small
talk for a little while, his roomate(other guy that works installing
windshields) comes over, talk and say hi, pay my bill. And call it a day. So the new windshield for the convertible ended up cost me $150 instead
of $350. Guy across the street was happy because he got paid for a full
install but only had to spend about 20 mins from start to finish. Oh, and I also dropped the trans today to replace a rear main seal.
Whoever worked on this car last lost 4 bolts, and replaced 3 with all
different size heads. So I have 14mm, 16mm, 17mm, and 18mm.
